Sunday Blue

It's a blue Sunday for me. I am in a funk which is pretty regular in my life. I don't like to talk about things like this. Well, I should say I don't like to talk to just anyone about it. However, today was a rough day because I went to see the Tennessee Titans play today. They lost. It was a very sad day. I am watching a movie right now. It's quite odd. It's called "The American Astronaut." I am not sure if I enjoy this one. Well , I think a plot has just developed. I also am enjoying the bad standup from the old man. More to come soon. I bought Hershey's Chocolate Syrup today as well. I wanted chocolate milk.

Atlanta

I'm in ATL this weekend. I'm playing a show here in town as well as visiting friends and family. I've been writing a lot of songs lately and I think I'm gonna start trying to put them up here on a regular basis. We'll see. I've been spending lots of time with my friends in Manchester Orchestra. I might be doing a photo shoot for them soon, so stay posted on that. Other than that nothing major.

I AM LEGEND....

Right Away, Great Captain!

Today I shot Andy Hull of Manchester Orchestra (MO) and Right Away, Great Captain!.
It was a fun day. I sat in on the MO rehearsal just before our shoot. They were working on their new record and I got to hear a new song they wrote today. It was pretty badass. Look for that record this fall/winter. It's gonna kick your ass. It was great seeing all the guys whom I used to spend the majority of my time with in the ATL days. It's always fun seeing them and it really does feel like I never left with that crew.
We went to the Chattahoochee River. This is a staple for any Georgia native. Andy and I wanted to shoot to embody the local nature of everything he does with his music. We went for some very fantasy driven photos as well as some journalistic portraits as well. The shoot was great fun and the water was nice. Could not have asked for a better day.

Me at 23... my dad at 23 .... me frightened.

Recently my brother's mom died(half brother). We've been going through old photos for her memorial and its been amazing to see old photos of my dad in there. It's a part of his life i didn't know much about. I mean your mom and dad don't normally talk about Dad's 1st marriage and wedding. I found out tonight he was married in hawaii younger than I am now while he was on leave fighting in the war. I also found him to look freakishly like me. It's that moment when you realize you're turning into your parents for better or worse. Let's just hope I stay skinny.

hi.. my name is HarriPhone.... oh yeah.

So this morning my friend Matthew Jones and I went to get our iPhones. We sat around for a few hours while the sun came up. And then!!!!!! The store opened... and we stood around and waited some more. It was a long and tiring experience. However, I have an iPhone 3G and Matthew got a couple (one for his wife). We were both very excited about it. Now I'm leaving for atlanta to be with my family for the weekend. Posts are sure to come.

Allie Peden

Tonight I went to The End and I saw Allie Peden. It was amazing. It was like one of those moments when you're like... so that's what it's like. It's like I've seen all the beatnik movies or indie underground club moments where people are watching something special. It felt surreal. I've seen Allie play many times. I've written with her. I recently shot her (photo above). But something hit me tonight. Maybe it was the room or maybe it's been the weird week I've had. Either way, it hit me. Like a train hitting my chest. It was like I felt a wind hit my head. I stood there shaking my head in pure amazement. I feel like all of my nights spent watching people play music. All of the mindless arm folding finally paid off. It was like the first time I heard Matthew Perryman Jones. It was a truly mind blowing experience. I finally feel legit. Like I'm really underground finding the cool music. I once heard Allie's brother, Bill, refer to her as an old soul. In a way that's funny but her voice matches that maturity. I'm rambling. She has a record coming out later this year. it is untitled at the moment. It is now my most anticipated release of 2008. Go listen. She's HH endorsed. And that means nothing.

Photography, Branding and a New Record

Here's a photo I took recently. I like it.



Ever since I had a teacher in high school whose previous employment was doing PR for Cingular, I have been obsessed with branding. I designed the a pineapple for my band Sweet Lucy Brown, the HH for Harrison Hudson and now the HHP for Harrison Hudson Photography. This is the new way to recognize my work.

I'm recording for my solo project Indian Penny. I'm bouncing between titles right now. I'm doing the record with Tommy Hans (Tommy and the Whale). He's one of my best friends and one of the only people I knew before I moved to Nashville. Needless to say I'm excited to have Tommy on board. He is a huge part of what has shaped my songwriting in the last 2 years. So naturally it is great to have him to bounce ideas off of. We know each other and can work great together. So far we're creating some great stuff. He's onboard with not being inside any box. We're going to take this record song by song. We'll decide what each song needs on it's own. We're not going to force certain instruments or sounds onto a song to make it "fit" a record. We're going to make sure each song is right for itself. I feel this will make for the best record. This should be a fun record. New songs up in a month? Maybe. I don't know. Since we're on the topic of branding; here's the logo for Indian Penny:

I'm Lazy

It's been a while since my last post. A lot has changed. I got a scooter. I sold my car. I got a van, and I turned 23. It's been a good few weeks. I've been busy taking photos and writing music. I've been getting things organized for our band. All of that said. I'm gonna start posting daily with photos updating on past events until I get current. I have to go work now. But soon.

Living With Wolves That I Miss

Last night i watched living with wolves. It's a documentary on these people who lived with wild wolves on a compound and interacted with them. It reminded me a lot of Apollo, my pet wolf. I had him for a year and a half and he ran away. I miss him a lot. He was truly something amazing.

i'm an artist.. and that's it... uh oh...

so today was a great and scary day. today i stuck it to the man. i quit my job. i no longer am a valet. I am a photographer and a musician. all i do is make art to some extent for a living!!!! yikes.. this is exciting but scary. so we'll see if i jumped the gun. either way it was time for myself and parking management company (PMC) to say... P-M-C-U-L8R ... burn... ok gonna go to bed... now that i don't valet i'm gonna blog more. and put up photos...

Homeward Bound

Just got into Atlanta, GA. I am down to take pictures of some friends who are getting married. I'm excited. I'll also be seeing my brother play in his cover band. This is a much less exciting post than anticipated. Oh, I am posting this on my new macbook pro!!!! Oh snap.

Lord Save Us

I just saw a movie called "Lord Save Us From Your Followers." It's very interesting and I recommend you watch it. It's fantastic. I've been doing some cleaning up today, but I've had a little time to edit some photos as well. So here's from my adventures yesterday! On my way to feed my friend Shaun's fish the clouds had broken from overcast shortly before. So post rain clouds were in the air. It's my favorite time to take pictures because the clouds are always so epic. So since my newly soon to be married friends were with me we did some spur of the moment engagement photos. Enjoy.

Away and Back

In a very typical week, I left town for one night. I went to atlanta with my bass player (Dees) to play a show. We drove to ATL on Thursday and came back the same night after we played. I spent much of Friday doing nothing. I hung out at Fido (my local coffee joint). Took some pictures of my newly engaged friends Micah and Erin, and saw a show down at the 5 spot. Color is coming back into the world. It makes the drive so much more enjoyable.


Now I'm home. I've just woken up after a few hours of sleep. We got back home at 4.30 AM.

My First Entry

I am a traveling man.  I am currently sleeping in Nashville, TN.  However, I frequent motels, car seats, couches and the occasional oriental rug.  Between music and photography I travel a lot.  I am a wayfarer.  I also happen to only wear Wayfarer sunglesses.  So the title fits.  Hope you will enjoy my thoughts and pictures of my travels and explorations.
